Road closed after truck crash

- Robert Fairnie

Part of a busy Stirling area road was closed for more than four hours after an accident involving an HGV.

The A811 near Kippen was off-limits to motorists after the heavy goods vehicle came off the road on Wednesday evening. The accident happened around 6.20pm, but the road remained open until the process of recovering the vehicle got underway around two hours later. While there were no injuries, and an ambulance was stood-down, recovery crews spent the rest of the night attempting to retrieve the vehicle and clear the road. For the duration of the closure motorists were faced with lengthy diversions, with some being faced to travel on the B822 and A873 to bypass the problem. The road was back open to traffic at around 1am.
