Strathard Heritage Network will be holding a mini-season of classic movies over the next three months.

The season begins in Aberfoyle’s Forth Inn on Friday, January 19, at 7.30pm with‘Geordie’which was released in 1955 and laregly shot in the Trossachs area.

Featuring Bill Travers and Alastair Sim, the film tells the story of Highland schoolboy Geordie MacTaggart, who takes up body building and becomes so adept at hammer throwing that he is drafted into the British team for the Melbourne Olympics.

Helga the Danish shot-putter introduces some romantic tension to the film’s finale. Admission is by donation. For details contact James Kennedy on 01877 387201.
