Pick up some top tips from Rocks star

Stirling-born Glasgow Rocks star Kieron Achara will be at The PEAK later this month to help launch a new basketball programme in the city.

Kieron (pictured), who learned the game as a schoolboy at Stirling High School before going on to play profession­ally in Italy and Spain, will be at the city leisure complex for the new PICK UP basketball programme on Thursday, January 25 from 8.30-10pm.

The 34 year-old played for Scotland and for Team GB in the 2012 London Olympics and will be encouragin­g adults aged 16 and over to come along.

PICK UP will be held every Thursday, costing £3 per game and is ideal for anyone who wants to try basketball for the first time or get back playing. No experience necessary, no need to book in advance - just turn up and play.
