Have your say on plans to move Dollar Post Office

-

A six-week consultation is underway on a proposal to re-locate a village’s post office.

Dollar post office would move from Station Road to the Paper Shop at 52 Bridge Street, about 55 yards.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday – an extra 10 hours of post office service every week.

The proposed move is, said the Post Office, in agreement with the current postmaster and part of a modernisation programme.

The new Dollar branch is expected to offer Post Office products and services throughout shop opening hours from an open-plan till at the shop counter instead of a separate screened counter.

Post Office regional network manager Suzanne Richardson said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to residents.

“We are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will meet customer needs.

Consultation on the proposal closes on March 1. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, by email to comments@ postoffice.co.uk, by the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
