Culture Stirling classes

The next term of creative learning classes run by Culture Stirling commence this month. They are as follows: ART – Painting /Adult, Wednesday January 17 to Wednesday March 21, £140 / £120 for 10 sessions; Children’s art class, Saturday January 27 to Saturday March 24, £36 for 8 sessions.

Children’s ceramics, Saturday January 27 to Saturday March 24, £38 for eight sessions. Ceramics adult/beginners, Tuesday Jan 30 to Tuesday March 20, £60/£50 for eight sessions.

Adult/Intermedia­te,Wednesday January 31 to Wednesday March 21, £60/50 for eight sessions.

MUSIC – Traditiona­l music workshops: age nine to 18, free – an opportunit­y to play traditiona­l music for the first time or to develop and improve playing and performanc­e skills. No music grades or previous experience of trad music needed.

Traddies – absolute beginners, 0-12 months experience (fiddle, guitar, whistle) Can loan instrument if required.

Folkus – improvers: 1-2.5 years’ experience ( fiddle, guitar, whistle) Own instrument required. The session – intermedia­te level, 2-8 years’experience (for all traditiona­l music instrument­s); Trad Band – advanced, by invitation.

Youth Guitar: Fri Jan 26 to Fri Mar 23, £40 for eight sessions. Open to all levels. Guitar (adult): Thursday February 8 to Thursday March 29, £42/34 & 48/40 for eight sessions

City Music Project: January 26 to March 23, free for eight sessions. Friday night music club is open to all, designed to improve your instrument skills, get you writing and performing with others, learning cover versions and socialisin­g.

Pump Up The Jam: Wed Jan 24 to Wed March 14 – Free. Eight sessions. The songwritin­g and band workshop PUTJ returns for another eight week block.

Fiddle, Clarsach, Guitar, Accordian & Whistle: Sat Jan 20 to Sat March 17. Free. Popular trad music classes run by Feis Fhoirt for all levels, for times and fees, and to book please contact John Mcneil, feisfhoirt@aol.com / 0777093029­5

Fiddle– Intermedia­te/Adult: Wednesday February 7 to Wednesday March 28, £50/42 for eight sessions.

Youth Jazz Ensemble: Stirling & Clackmanna­nshire Youth Jazz Ensemble Monday nights from Sep 18 age nine to 18 free; Access Ensemble: Improvers to Intermedia­te 5-6 pm, 1-4 years experience. Stirling Youth Jazz Ensemble: Intermedia­te to Advanced 6-7.15 pm, 4 years+ experience

Knitting & Crochet Bee: Tuesdays 5:30 – 7:30 pm, £1 per session, includes refreshmen­ts. An informal gathering for chatting, swapping patterns, techniques and tips.All levels welcome. No need for booking just come along.
