Expert team grows, as does city

-

Stirling was recently voted the best place in Scotland to start a business and with the launch of the digital district last year, it really is an exciting time for the city.

The City Deal plans for regenerating the business community are helping to put Stirling on the world stage as an attractive place to work and do business.

And as the business community in Stirling grows, so too does the investment in Johnston Carmichael’s Stirling team.

Leading business advisory and chartered accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael has further invested in the growing Stirling team to enhance the tax, accounting and business advisory services at a local level.

Margaret Sinclair has joined the team as Corporate Tax Manager and will provide specialist corporation tax advice to a wide range of businesses.

Previously at French Duncan for 20 years, Margaret has significant experience in tax and advising companies of all sizes, from small limited companies through to groups of companies with international interests. She also has expertise in tax compliance, capital allowances, R&D and group tax requirements. The firm strengthened its team further with the appointment of Tax Manager Senga Prior and Business Advisory Assistant Manager Laura Lyon last year. Senga was previously at Bell and Company for 17 years, where she specialised in advising owner-managed businesses and private clients with a particular focus on the agricultural sector. Senga was also recently appointed to the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) Council. Previously with French Duncan for over ten years, Laura brings a wealth of experience in advising businesses of all sizes from SMEs to large corporates. Managing Partner Peter Innes said: “The appointments of Margaret, Laura and Senga represents further key hires for our Stirling office, which continues to see significant growth and opportunities since its opening in 2012. “The expertise and resource at a local level for our clients to access is significant. “Stirling is a city of innovation and strong entrepreneurial culture. “It really is a place for growth and we will continue to grow with our clients’ business needs and ambitions.”
