Milton blitz Broomhouse in first half

-

Milton .. 3 Broomhouse .. 1

Three first-half goals secured the points for Milton in an impressive win over Broomhouse on Saturday.

The home team started well and inside the opening five minutes were a goal up when Shaddick set up Henderson to fire a wonderful left-foot shot high into the net.

Shaddick almost made it two but his shot went narrowly over the bar.

On the 20-minute mark, however, Statter scored Milton’s second after great play between Mitchell and Henderson.

The visitors looked shattered with Rodgers unlucky not to get a third as Milton piled on the pressure.

A third goal five minutes before the interval sealed the points, however, when Henderson controlled a Statter pass to side-foot past the keeper.

In the second half, Henderson had a couple of chances to notch his hat-trick but missed out and Robertson also had a good effort stopped.

The visitors never gave up and 15 minutes before the end they scored after slack play in the Milton defence.

Robertson had another effort which just went past the post and Milton played out the remaining minutes to secure the win.
