No more pain as Moira loses pounds

-

A Wee County woman has transformed her life by losing more than three stone.

Moira Scoon (46) says that losing over 45 pounds in under a year helped cure her medical problems.

The mum-of-one was diagnosed with chronic pain syndrome, acute sciatica and inoperable bulging discs in 2014.

The contractor with Scottish Enterprise in Stirling was forced to take daily doses of morphine for a number of years to deal with the pain.

Having struggled with her weight she decided to try and slim to alleviate the pain.

In March, 2017, she joined a local Weight Watchers group where she received tips on how to shed pounds

Moira has lost 45.5lbs and has dropped three dress sizes in under a year.

But she says the best part is being pain free and no longer depending on the high daily doses of painkillers to function.

Moira says:“I have been taught how to make healthy choices and look at food differently.

“It’s no longer there as a treat or compensation for a bad day, food is there to fuel my body and I am able to make healthy choices to satisfy my hunger whether that’s in the house or when I eat out in a restaurant with friends and family.“

Moira, now a Weight Watchers coach , is 17lb away from her target weight and hopes to reach it this year.
