Stage set for show of talent

Young performers’chance to shine

- Robert Fairnie

Around 200 people packed out the Tolbooth for an entertaining night of live music.

The latest City Music Live event marked the release of Dunblane singer-songwriter Ryan Wilson’s EP ‘Goose’ while other talented local tired of busking, and bands or acts who have come through our music workshops and classes here and are keen to take the next step performing.

“It’s a real testament to the young people involved that the nights have continued to gather momentum to the point where we’re running out of room in the Auditorium.

“And the great thing is that the young people in the team go away with a load of new skills and experiences in stage management, events promotion and live sound, and the performers have a positive first gig experience.”

Team member Leo McArdle added: “Each one of the acts came highly prepared and on-stage showed a level of professionalism that one would expect from much more experienced touring acts.

“That’s the joy of attending City Music Live – regardless of how many times you’ve been, you’ll always be blown away by the talent of the young musicians in Stirling.”

City Music Live are keen to hear from young people aged 12 to 19 who are keen to either perform at a future event or help organise it. Get in touch via the Facebook page or email citymusiclive@gmail.com.
