Hundreds of acts lined up for 2018 MugStock
More than 150 acts will play at the fourth annual MugStock Festival this summer.
Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5 and Highland folk rockers Tide Lines are among those announced to play at the not-for-profit event, which runs from Friday, July 27 to Monday, July 30. Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 are described as Glasgow’s disco ball hat-wearing, unicorn crowd surfing, genre-hopping entertainment who have been entertaining audiences across the globe with their high-energy show. Tide Lines were formed by two former members of the band Skipinnish, and their debut album Dreams We Never Lost has gone on to be a massive success.
Taking place in Mugdock Country Park, the festival has previously been praised for its outstanding atmosphere – catering to a wide range of ages with a quality line-up.
Acts will perform on a mixture of seven outdoor and indoor stages while those staying for the weekend will have a choice of three camp sites, including one for families and one close-by to the dance tent.
There will also be a dedicated families area within a historic walled garden and there are two castles and acres of ancient woodland to explore between seeing the acts.
Also announced to perform over the weekend are Glasgow-based Girobabies who perform what is described as baffling grunge soul music, and Emily Middlemas who made it to the final of X-Factor at the age of 18 and went on to play a sellout X-Factor arena tour.
Teenage singer-songwriter Katee Kross, who has previously supported artists such as Dougie MacLean and Barbara Dickson, will also take to the stage while funk outfit Supa & Da Kryptonites will play at the festival for the fourth time.
Dark pop act Mt. Doubt, vocalists Harry & The Hendersons, comedian and singer-songwriter Captain Hotknives and Edinburgh band Half Formed Things are also booked.
There will be folk music from Flew The Arrow, hip-hop from Steg G & The Freestyle Master, hard rock from Gage, and Americana from Awkward Family Portraits.
In addition to the music there will also be entertainment in the form of theatre, comedy, spoken word, roaming performers, fire shows and art on offer.
Early-bird weekend tickets are £65 and day tickets are £27. Over 60s and teenagers are half price while under12s go free.
