SHOWOF SHOWS

One great big musical theatre party

-

Years of sell-out shows at the Dunblane Centre are being celebrated next week in a “Show of Shows”.

As well as marking around 40 productions at the centre, it also marks theYear ofYoung People in Scotland.

Producer Pamela Mackie said:“This is the culmination of everything that makes performing arts at the Dunblane Centre a bit special.

“With a cast of more than 100 from our youngest four and five year-olds through the ever-increasing teen contingent, our adult principals and our community choir, we are going to feature some of the hit songs from all the 40 shows we have performed over the last 13 years or so.

“These include Summer Nights, One Day More, The Addams Family, King and I, Oliver! and more. There’s something for everyone.

“It’s exciting to be able to revisit old favourites and come together for a great big musical theatre party.”

Over the years the centre has generated a love of the arts in many of its young performers. Ryan Wilson, who appeared as Valjean in Les Miserables, one of the biggest shows ever staged by the centre, is heading to London in August to study musical theatre, as is current Dunblane High School head boy Flynn Starrs.

Performances are on Friday, March 23, at 7.30pm and Saturday, March 24, at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought from the Centre in person, over the phone on 01786 824224 or online at theatreindunblane. co.uk and are £8, concessions £6.
