There are a limited number of places remaining to take part in the Stirling Scottish Half Marathon next month.

Organisers Great Run say that interest in the city’s 13.1-mile run has been high since its launch in December.

Around 3000 people are expected to take part in the event.

The race, which will take place on the same day as the Stirling Scottish Marathon on Sunday, April 29, starts and finishes in Stirling city centre.

Runners will take in a scenic route which includes part of the city along with the Wallace Monument and a section of the Hillfoots.

A spokesman for the Great Run Company said: “Following feedback from runners, it was clear that there was a desire for a range of distances on the day, which is why we have added a brand new half-marathon to take place alongside the full marathon distance.

“Stirling and the surrounding area is a beautiful place to run.

“We are delighted to see that runners are once more embracing that opportunity and we are looking forward to event day which is drawing ever closer.”
