Comic Sloss is back with 10th solo show

- Robert Fairnie

Having performed to a packed-out audience at the Macrobert in September – top comic Daniel Sloss has announced he is returning to the city this year.

The award-winning funnyman will bring his new show – entitled ‘X’ – to the Albert Halls on November 8 following on from a successful performance in the city in the autumn.

At the age of just 27 Sloss is already somewhat of a veteran of the comedy circuit – and he is now preparing for his tenth solo show later this year.

His last tour saw him play more than 150 gigs across 28 countries around the globe.

He has performed on Conan on US TV a record eight times and sold out 11 consecutive Edinburgh Fringe Festivals – where he has been one of the biggest ticket sellers in the past decade.

Sloss is also a well-known face on British television with numerous appearances on shows such as Drunk History, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and Russell Howard’s Good News.

The comic, who rose to prominence a decade ago on TV’s So You Think You are Funny, spoke to the Observer last year about his fond memories of playing in Stirling.

He explained that those wishing to watch him in action should be warned to expect some taboo subjects to be addressed.

He said: “As my show is based around arrogance I have to be confident when I deliver it. There can’t be any sign of a quiver in my voice as it just wouldn’t work.

“I tend to approach some taboo subjects and if I see anyone getting upset or offended I will stop the show and explain to them why they are wrong.”

Sloss will be joined at the Albert Halls by special guest Kai Humphries.

Tickets are priced at £13.50. Go to culturestirling.org.
