Angling season underway
The first lines were cast as the trout and salmon fishing season on the Allan Water was officially opened last week.
Members from the Allan Water Angling Improvement Association were among those who made their way to the river at Kinbuck for a special ceremony on Thursday morning.
Club President Roy Robertson and Alison Baker from the River Forth Fishery Trust each said a few words before Mr Robertson cast the first line and a bottle of Tullibardine malt whisky was opened.
More than 200 trout were caught in the river last year and Mr Robertson is looking for another excellent year in 2018.
He said:“We had a successful opening day on the Allan Water and we hope this will lead to a fantastic season for anglers and those who use the river.”
