Classic cars rev up for charity
Vintage vehicles will be on display at Stirling and District Classic Car Show next month, once again raising money for charity.
Organised by Stirling and District Classic Car Club, the show – now in its 14th year – has raised more than £75,000 over the last 12 years for charities.
The 2018 event will take place at the Strathallan Games Park, Bridge of Allan, on Sunday, May 13.
SDCCC secretary Mike Stevens said:“We are grateful to the members of the public who support our show so generously and allow us to help these deserving local charities.
“SDCCC is proud to showcase over 600 classic vehicles, which many readers will remember from their youth.
“The majority of exhibits will be cars, with a selection of commercial and military vehicles.
“In addition, a variety of trade stalls, children’s rides, an inflatable slide and a trampoline, will make it a day for all the family to enjoy and also provide funds for really worthwhile local charities.”
This year the charities include Scottish Charity Air Ambulance, adventure group Ochil Explorers and dementia support service Town Break.
Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band will also add to the entertainment during the day.
Mr Stevens added:“The broad selection and high standard of vehicles brought to the show is exceptional and the owners spend considerable time preparing their entry for the show. The competition for the best car in the show is intense and the judges spend many hours in inspection and deliberation before making their choice.”
Entry is £5 per adult, including programme, with no charge for children under 15.
The gates will open to the public at 10.30am.
