Host of top comedy acts are set for Stirling

-

Daniel Sloss, Ed Byrne, Sara Pascoe and Fred Macaulay are among the top comedy talent set to take to the stage in Stirling in the coming months.

The Albert Halls, Tolbooth and Macrobert will welcome a whole host of funnymen and women this year. Comic Ed Byrne will perform to a packed audience at the Macrobert on June 1. His new show ‘Spoiler Alert’ is set to examine whether life is really bad, and we have good reason to complain, or if we are just a bunch of whiny little brats. Byrne is thought of as one of the top comedians on the circuit and is well known for appearances on shows such as Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You.

Fred Macaulay will take to the stage at the Tolbooth on June 23 for a show which will look back on his 30-year career in stand-up before sharply-dressed and well-spoken Tom Allen visits the same venue five days later – on June 28.

On the same night as Allen’s show critically acclaimed trio Daniel Sloss, Kai Humphries and Gareth Waugh will perform across town – at the Albert Halls.

The gig will be a preview of their upcoming Edinburgh Comedy Fringe show and will feature some adult comedy.

The event organisers say this ‘sneak peak’ show is a work in progress, so may not be slick, but it will sure be funny.

October will see Sara Pascoe come to town with her new show ‘LADSLADSLADS’. She has become one of the top names in UK comedy and her show is described as a ‘thinking person’s stag-do’ and full of jokes and white wine.

Pascoe, who has also been appearing on TV screens throughout the UK in recent months, will perform at the Macrobert on October 20.

The following month will see Daniel Sloss return to Stirling for a solo performance of his new show entitled ‘X’.

Sloss has become an international star and his last tour spanned more than 150 shows across 28 countries. Aged just 27 this will be the Fifer’s tenth solo show.

He will perform at the Albert Halls on November 8, with tickets priced at £13.50.

The following night awardwinning Scott Gibson will perform at the Tolbooth.

His hilarious show ‘Anywhere But Here’ looks back on an epic adventure he and his friends took to Kavos as teenagers.
