‘Unforgiving’ Brown backs appointments
Albion chairman and operations director Stuart Brown said he could not forgive those whose actions he blames for bringing about last week’s meeting.
In March, at a meeting of trust members, chairman Ken Lewandowski, who had only been in the post for 15 days, led a mass resignation of board members.
He said members were not prepared to tolerate abuse from supporters “loyal to club chairman Stuart Brown” who some trust members had been trying to oust.
They were at odds with Mr Brown over long-standing differences and complaints he had been keeping them out of the loop over big decisions concerning the club. In a statement to the Observer this week Mr Brown said he was “personally delighted” with the appointments made to the board.
He noted the“large turn out of trust members who displayed a very vocal and determined commitment to supporting their newly elected representatives”.
He added: “Much has previously been reported with regard to the events that led to the requirement for a (special general meeting) and whilst I will personally never forgive those directly responsible, now is the time to firmly close that chapter in the club’s history and move forward with a renewed vigour.
“The new trust board, in addition to their unquestionable passion for Stirling Albion, bring a wealth of relevant experience to the table.
“This, combined with their commitment to the task, augurs well for the future and I along with my club board colleagues very much look forward to working with them to achieve and indeed exceed our common aims and objectives for Stirling Albion FC.
“Finally, it would be hugely remiss of me not to publicly extend, on behalf of the entire Stirling Albion family, my sincere thanks and eternal gratitude to Duncan Strathdee, club chaplain, for taking on the role of Interim trust chairperson and his commitment to delivering the required outcome from the meeting. In footballing parlance, he played a blinder.”
