Drivers advised to plan ahead

-

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead to minimise likely disruption caused by roadworks in Dunblane this weekend.

Road maintenance improvements are scheduled to take place on both slip roads of the southbound A9 at the Queen Victoria Junction.

The £117,000 improvements will enhance the safety of the slip roads at this location.

The works will involve resurfacing areas of the carriageway and improving road markings, creating a smoother and safer journey for road users.

The weekend project will begin at 7.30pm today ( Friday) for a full weekend on the A9 southbound slip roads at the Queen Victoria Junction at Dunblane, with works expected to be completed on Monday before the morning peak.

For the safety of the workforce as well as motorists, the southbound off and on-slips at Queen Victoria Junction will be closed for the duration of the works, with one lane of the southbound A9 also closed for safety.

Local diversions will be in place for traffic wishing to access or exit the southbound A9.

Traffic management will remain in place continuously over the weekend with all traffic management removed by 6.30am on Monday, May 21.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East representative, said: “We’ve planned the project to take place over one full weekend to minimise disruption to road users as much as possible, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can.

“We encourage motorists to plan their journey in advance and check the Traffic Scotland website before setting out.”

The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland and have been planned in consultation with the emergency services, Stirling Council and Transport Scotland.
