Lots of lads and laughs at stand-up Sara’s show
Multi-award winning comedian Sara Pascoe has spoken of her excitement at taking her new show ‘LadsLadsLads’ on tour.
Sara will be performing at the Macrobert later this year – and she has said audiences are in for an evening of fun and celebration. The show is described as a “thinking person’s stag-do” and full of jokes, hope and white wine. It follows on from the comic’s hugely-successful sold out Animal tour. She has since appeared on TV screens throughout the country – starring on shows such as Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News for You and QI.
But she is now looking forward to taking her new show, which has enjoyed sell-out slots at the Edinburgh Fringe and West End, on the road.
She said: “It’s sometimes hard to summarise what a show is about – but I wanted to give people the sense that it is fun and celebratory.
“Having fun, trying new things in a way of being braver and more self-reliant.
“Some of my shows in the past have had serious aspects, theories and research and this one is lighter. It’s like a party, except only I get to talk and you have to sit there watching me.”
Sara added: “I love going on tour. I love out nation. I love rainy days up north and cold evenings by the seaside. It’s a luxury to get to travel for one’s job and it’s still a novelty for me. Ask me again in twenty years.”
After the tour ends Sara, who will perform at the Macrobert on Saturday October 20, has some big plans lined-up.
She said: “I’d like to go do some stand-up in America, and hopefully do some writing for TV. And another play. And I want to get a dog. And then more adventures so I can write another show.”
Sara started performing stand-up in 2007 and in 2010 she made her first appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Her first book ‘Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body’ was released in 2016 by Faber and Faber and she later went on tour with the show Animal.
Earlier this year she appeared as a panellist in two episodes of the BBC Radio 4 panel show Just A Minute.
Tickets for the ‘LadsLadsLads’ performance are priced at £18.50/ £16.50 concessions. Recommended for those aged 16 and over.
