Dobbies is targeted for fourth time

Dobbies Garden Centre in Stirling has been targeted by thieves for the fourth time in less than a year.

Around £6000 worth of clothing was taken from the centre’s Cotswold Outdoor department throughout 2017, with thefts occurring in July, August and November.

And now the popular section of the Craigforth store has been targeted once more.

A crook wearing a ski mask forced entry to the premises in Drip Road and helped themselves to a quantity of goods at the weekend.

This theft happened at around 10.35pm on Sunday and CCTV captured an individual who had dark trousers on and their face covered breaking in.

Police are investigating the incident and officers want anyone with information to get in touch.

This follows a theft in July last year in which six high-end Rab jackets, with a combined value of £3000, were stolen from the store.

The following month Rab clothing to the value of £2500 was taken and in November thieves returned and helped themselves to a further £430 worth of valuables.

Stirling inspector Donna Bryans told the Observer that police want anyone who knows the identity of the individual involved or who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.

A spokesperson for Dobbies said: “We are working closely with the police on this matter.”
