Kyle Eyes up racket deal

- Donald Morton

Bridge of Allan Sports Club squash starlet Kyle Penman has been given a huge boost as he prepares to take part in his final tournament as Scotland’s No 1 under-13.

The 12 year-old has just signed a one-year deal with Eye Rackets having enjoyed a fantastic season in winning the Scottish under-13 title and then leading his country in the prestigious Five Nations tournament in France.

The Wallace High Pupil has no doubt that his new sponsorship deal will help him mount a strong challenge at this month’s Italian Open junior championships in Riccione.

Kyle said:“It’s just really exciting for me to sign with Eye Rackets and coming just before the Italian Open, which is my final junior tournament at under-13, it has given me a massive boost.

“I want to go out on a high in Italy and make the strongest challenge I can for the under-13 title and I’d like nothing better to end my time in this age group with a European title.

“But to do that you have to give yourself the best chance possible and the quality of your rackets are vital.”

Eye Rackets UK director Andrew MacBean said: “Kyle has enjoyed a stellar season where he has swept all before him at under-13 level ,while showing composure, dedication and a great attitude and I have no doubt he has the ability and the application to go all the way.”
