Engine is a cat trap
A car’s engine had to be stripped down in a bid to rescue a trapped cat last weekend in Bannockburn.
Firefighters from Dunblane Fire Station were called to help free the moggie from the vehicle in Queen Street on Saturday evening.
Emergency crews were scrambled to the location shortly before 6pm after receiving a call from the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA) to assist in removing the animal. The rescue team opened the car bonnet and had to remove a large amount of engine components to reach the cat.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said:“Operations Control mobilised a single fire engine to Queen Street where firefighters freed the cat and passed it into the care of the SSPCA.
“Firefighters left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
