An initiative to microchip and neuter cats across Forth Valley is being offered to low income owners.

Cat owners in who live in the FK postcode region, who are on low income, are being urged to ‘snip/spay and chip’ their cats.

Cats Protection is launching the campaign on Sunday July 1, where it will be providing microchipp­ing and neutering at discounted rates to owners on means tested benefits, low household income, pensioners and to full time students.

As part of the campaign, Cats Protection will welcome members of the public to its Forth Valley Adoption Centre in Fishcross on Saturday July 7 between 12pm and 3pm for more informatio­n.

Residents in Bridge of Allan are looking for flexibilit­y on town road closures during the Stirling Marathon.

Bridge of Allan Community Council heard last week that residents had difficulty getting about the town during this year’s April 28 event.

Some roads had been closed early in the morning before the marathon start of 8.30am with the first runners coming through streets there at 9am.

Residents on the north side of Bridge of Allan had no access to the town centre other than via Greenloani­ng seven miles north of Dunblane.
