Plea as MP’s office targeted again
Police this week issued an appeal for information following a vandalism attack on the office of Stephen Kerr.
The Stirling MP’s constituency base in Borestone Crescent was targeted for the fourth time since the he was elected in June last year.
Vandals last month spray painted the words‘traitor’and ’lies’on the wall of the office, near Borestone roundabout.
Police conducting inquiries since the incident and are now asking for anyone who may have information to contact them. Constable Stuart Gray, of Stirling Police , said:“Targeting an individual because of their political affiliations cannot and will not be tolerated and we would ask anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in this area between Wednesday, June 13, and Thursday, June 14 ,to contact police immediately. In addition, anyone with any information that can help us trace the culprits should also get in touch.”
Last September, vandals damaged large aluminium signage at the premises and two months later lewd graffiti was daubed on a wall there.
Speaking after the most recent incident, Mr Kerr told the Observer:“This is a despicable and cowardly act by someone who has no respect for the people of Stirling.
“This office is used by many people to access advice and support and there is no regard for them or the staff. My office remains open and my staff and I remain determined to keep doing our job in serving all the people of Stirling.”
