- Kaiya Marjoribanks

Judges were blown away by competition entries to design a poster highlighting Dunblane’s Community Fund for distributing windfarm cash.

Newton Primary pupils took part in a poster design competition with a prize of £50 for the winner.

The fund distribution committee wanted more young people involved and thought getting them to help with promotional material for 2018 would be a good start.

Fund administrator Christine Campbell said: “We were delighted by the response of the children and their artistic efforts. The committee had difficulty deciding on a winner but eventually agreed to share the prize between two pupils. Annabel Black and Isla MacFarlane got a certificate and a book token.”

Since Doune Windfarm opened in 2003, annual financial donations have been made to local communities.

Dunblane’sWindfarm Committee was established to distribute the town’s share of the money, the purpose being to make small grants available to any community group/ organisation working on projects based in the Dunblane/Kinbuck/ Ashfield area. The fund is administered by Dunblane Development Trust with applications assessed and approved by a committee of six community members nominated jointly by the community council and the development trust. The closing date for applications is Friday September 14 - see dunblanedevelopment trust.com/news/ let-the-wind.
