A Bannockburn girl set to represent Scotland at a pageant in Paris later this year is to hold a charity disco.

Seven-year-old Erin Mackenzie was crowned“Minnie Face of Scotland”and in November is flying to the French capital to compete for the“Minnie Face of Europe”title.

Part of her duties as Minnie Face of Scotland included organising and running a charity event for children.

So on Sunday, July 29 she is hosting a “Disco Fit for a King or Queen”in Bannockburn Miners Welfare from 1-3pm.

All proceeds from the event will be going to Headway East Kent and there will be a DJ, party games, optional fancy dress, glitter tattoos, hot dogs and refreshments, a cake staff and raffles. Entry is £4 per child, including a disco goodie bag - and adults get in free.

Erin, a pupil at St Mary’s Primary School in Bannockburn, also recently held the Mini Miss Scotland Charity title.

She first started entering the competitions a few years ago after her nana Jennifer Martin spotted a post for a charity pageant on Facebook. Erin entered and was crowned queen.

Since then she has entered several charity pageants, raising funds for various different charities.

Mum Sasha Faichney says:“Erin is such a fun-loving little girl who adores singing and dancing and loves puppies.

“But she also does a lot of fundraising and charity appearances to support children’s charities, and also completed the Race for Life last year.”
