Summer camp fun in sun

-

Youngsters from Dunblane Boys’ Brigade enjoyed a sunbaked annual summer camp at Craigtoun Country Park outside St Andrew’s recently.

For the first time in living memory, the whole week passed without a single drop of rain, meaning a fantastic time was had by all every day.

On arrival, they spent many hours putting up a marquee and their own tents as well as the cooking tent before taking part in a daily programme of sports, games and competitions. They also visited local attractions including the Olympia Pool in Dundee, Broughty Ferry Gala Challenge, Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Fox Lake Adventures in the harbour at Dundee, the Himalayas putting course, swims in the sea at the local beaches and lots more.

Twenty-two boys took part along with a core of four adult officers and others who helped for various days during the week.

The BB is grateful to Sterling Furniture in Tillicoultry for its support with transport logistics, providing a lorry to move all the camping gear from Dunblane to St Andrew’s.

They would also like to thank John Hill Butchers (Dunblane) for supplying meat for part of the week.

The BB has sections for all ages from five to 18 in Dunblane and will resume with enrolment on August 24.
