Driver crashed with three times drinks limit at 6.50am
A Cowie woman crashed her car while three times the drinks limit and ended up in hospital.
Isabel Reeley (50) drove in Main Street, Plean, while over the limit on the morning of March 18.
Blood tests revealed that she had 140 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeding the limit of 50.
Stirling Sheriff Court heard this week that Reeley, of Mossgiel Avenue, was seen driving in an erratic manner at around 6.50am.
Fiscal depute Lindsey Brooks said a witness saw her vehicle hit a lamp post and contacted the police and ambulance service.
When officers arrived Reeley locked herself in the vehicle and refused assistance from ambulance staff.
The airbag had activated and there was substantial damage to the vehicle.
Reeley was eventually persuaded to leave the vehicle and was taken to Falkirk Police Station before being transported to Forth Valley Hospital due to concerns about potential internal injuries.
The court heard that Reeley was convicted of failing to comply with a breath test two years ago.
On Wednesday morning she was banned from the roads for two years and fined £600. Both the fine and disqualification had been reduced due to an early guilty plea.
