Dropped drugbag

-

A Callander man who was caught by police with £160 worth of heroin has been placed under supervision.

Richard McLellan (45) had possession of the Class A drug while on Goosecroft Road, Stirling, on April 26.

The Lagrannoch Crescent resident pleaded guilty to the charge last month.

Stirling Sheriff Court heard how police spoke to the accused and saw him drop a bag of brown powder.

Fiscal depute Lindsey Brooks said McLellan told officers – ‘sorry that’s my heroin, I just dropped it’.

The substance was tested and found to be 1.6 grammes of heroin with a maximum value of £160.

He was placed under supervision for a period of 18 months as a direct alternative to custody.
