Hillwalker injured

-

A Fishcross-based mountain rescue team stretchered an injured hillwalker to safety in Fife this week.

Volunteers from Ochils Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) were called to assist the police and ambulance service at East Lomond, near Falkland on Monday evening.

A couple had been walking at around 8.50pm when the woman took a tumble, injuring her ankle, on steep ground near the summit.

OMRT dispatched 18 volunteers to the incident.

The woman, believed to be a local woman in her 40s, was treated by team casualty carers and two team doctors, she was stretchered down to the rescue team vehicle and was then transported around a half mile down the hill and handed over to Scottish Ambulance Service where she was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
