Gascooker emergency

Firefighte­rs were called to assist a family who found themselves locked out of their camper van – while a gas cooker was on inside.

A crew from Killin Fire Station rushed to Crianlaric­h to deal with the emergency shortly after 1pm on Wednesday.

The family encountere­d difficulty while stopped at the public car park opposite the police office in the village.

After arriving at the scene firefighte­rs managed to gain access to the vehicle via a window – using what are described as the fire service as ‘small tools’ – before turning off the gas.

They left around half an hour later with the emergency dealt with.
