Top price of the day went to J Gray, Craigmad for a pen of Beltex X at £76. Texel lambs averaged £60.99; Suffolk lambs £61.52; Mule lambs £56.80.

Leading prices: Beltex £67 and £64 Lands of Drumhead; Suffolk X £65 Kilt; Texel £65 Blairlusk, Bogside and Craigmad; Mule £57.50 East Mitchelton; Mule £57 Shankhead and Townhead. On Tuesday, August 7, Caledonian Marts sold 1933 prime lambs, cast ewes and tups.

All classes of lambs were sharper on the week, especially 42kg-plus with the overall average for 869 sold being 185.5p pkg (+8.8p on the week).

Top price of the day went to Doune Farms for a 51kg Beltex lamb at £103 and to a top of 210.8p pkg again for a Beltex from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuth­ill.
