Birthday party at kids club

-

Dunblane Kids Club will celebrate a special milestone later this month.

The group will host a 25th anniversary party on Saturday, August 25.

There will be fun activities such as a bouncy castle, photo booth and face painting along with entertainment from a magician and a DJ.

In addition there will be a bar, barbecue and ice cream van.

The club was launched in August 1993 as a before and after school club, based in an old school hut on the playing fields at Dunblane Primary.

The school allowed use of their facilities and Stirling Council and the Scottish Out of School Care Network provided start-up grants.

The group expanded and in 1997 they were awarded cash to design and complete their own building in the grounds of the primary school.

They expanded again in 2004 with the capacity to welcome 100 children each day.

Now members are inviting everyone who has been involved down the years to get involved in their celebration.

A spokesperson said: “None of this would have been possible without the help and hard work of all the committee members involved from day one until now. Over the years we have watched not only the kids club grow but also watched the community of Dunblane grow rapidly.

“We have accrued some fantastic and beautiful memories and it has been our privilege to have worked with the help of all our great schools, thousands of amazing children, families and work colleagues.”
