A cycle stunt team will showcase a series of skilful tricks and flips when a fun-filled festival comes to the city this weekend.

Stirling Festival of Cycling and Walking will take place at Stirling High School on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The event, organised by Stirling Active Travel Hub, will feature the impressive work of The Clan – Scotland’s cycle stunt team – and they will entertain those gathered with a special display.

There will also be opportunities for families to test out their own cycling skills.

The start of the Pedal for Parkinson’s charity bike ride at 9am will feature as part of the festival while there will be different bike skills courses suitable for all ages and abilities.

Stirling Active Travel Hub’s Chris James said:“This year’s festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

“We’re offering a variety of tasters to inspire everyone, whatever their age and ability, to be more active.

“We’ll have everything from balance bike activities for the little tots, to e-bikes for those who want to boost their pedal power.

“Recyke-a-Bike’s Dr Bike will also be on-hand to carry out free bike safety checks.”

He added:“The fun isn’t limited to those on two wheels. There will also be a chance to try out Nordic Walking with a trained instructor as well as a free bouncy castle, face painting and transport themed storytelling sessions to keep the kids entertained.”
