Minor Injuries Centre opens

-

The new GP and Minor Injuries Centre at Stirling Health Care Village opened its doors for the first time on Monday, August 13.

The facility operates seven days a week without the need for an appointment and provides treatment for a wide range of minor injuries including scalds, sprains and cuts.

It is the first part of the new £37m Stirling Health Care Village to be opened.

The Bellfield Centre, an 116-bed inpatient facility will provide short-term care, assessment or rehabilitation for older people.

It is due to be completed later this year.

A number of services have relocated from other parts of the Stirling Community Hospital site which includes X-ray facilities (two X-ray rooms and two ultrasound rooms), GP out-of-hours services and Keep Well services.

It will also house three Stirling GP practices ( those at Viewfield, Park Avenue, and Park Terrace Practices) which will transfer across to the new facilities over the next few months of the year.

The final phase will see the development of a new vehicle workshop for the Scottish Ambulance Service in Autumn 2019.

That’s the date for completing the transfer of facilities from their current and long-standing base in Lovers Walk, Riverside, as well as providing a Stirling base for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
