Gargunnock enjoys fine display
After a beautiful summer Gargunnock woke on Sunday morning to heavy rain but the weather did not deter the number of entries for the annual flower show.
The display of dahlias, herbaceous flowers and vegetables was well worthy of their many prizes, while a great show of apples and tomatoes gave the judges a tough challenge.
Local schools also took part. There were a great number of entries for parents and visitors to admire.
The year saw a great increase in the number of entries in the baking section. A challenge was set with several first-time clootie dumplings bakers entering, with stalwart Grace Smillie lifting the trophy.
President Maitland Clark opened the show, thanking everyone who had exhibited, everyone working in the background and also the committee for all their hard work.
The tea room was kept busy and the committee thanked everyone who donated baking and raffle prizes. Results
