Village has new base for businesses

-

A new business hub was launched in Aberfoyle on Tuesday.

Strathard Business Hub, operated by Strathard Community Trust, offers newly refurbished, shared workspaces and meeting rooms for self– employed and small businesses as well as corporate clients.

The hub in Main Street offers new users a four-hour free taster session.

Strathard Community Trust is headed up by Katinka Dalglish. The user group is headed by Trevor Geraghty.

On the night of the launch the venue was packed with users and prospective co-workers.

Trossachs and Teith councillor Evelyn Tweed said:“I was delighted to help with the setting-up of the hub and pleased that Stirling Council facilitated this ambitious project.

“I believe this will be a catalyst for economic growth in the area and I wish the hub great success.

“At the launch there was a real buzz in the room that something very special was happening and it was great to see people there on the night wanting to sign up for space at the hub.”

Councillor Jeremy McDonald said: “I thank all those involved in helping the project.

“The stimulus and networking it has brought to local businesses by giving them professional offices, meeting rooms and high-speed internet for a very competitive fee is very positive. The area needs much more support but this is a good initiative that could be expanded.”

The project was also supported by Bruce Crawford MSP and the Stirling Council economic development team.
