GPs move into care village

- Staff Reporter

The first of three GP practices given a place in Stirling’s new health and care village has made the move.

Park Terrace Medical Practice, formerly located in Park Terrace and St Ninians Health Centre now has premises in the health and care village’s GP and minor injuries unit.

The practice kept patients up to date about the move in a number of ways including texting the information with prescriptions and giving out the details with appointments.

Park Avenue practice is due to move to the new set-up on November 5 this year with the last appointments at the old site on November 2. The practice has six GPs, one practice nurse, two healthcare assistants, together with a management/administrative support team.

A spokesman for NHS Forth Valley said the third surgery set to re-locate, Viewfield Medical Practice, Viewfield Place, Stirling, had not advised of a definite date for the move.

The GP and minor injuries unit , is part of the £37 million Stirling health and care village. A 116-bed inpatient facility which will provide short-term care, assessment or rehabilitation for older people, who need additional support following an illness or operation, will be completed later this year at the site.

Address of the GP Centre is Livilands Gate, Stirling, and postcode is FK8 2AU.
