Stirling man denies threats to man and woman
A Stirling man has denied behaving aggressively towards a woman at a town address and hitting a metal pole on the ground there.
Damien McQuillan, formerly of Adamson Place and now of Banknock, pleaded not guilty to three charges of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner when he appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday) – as well as charges of resisting police officers and breaching the terms of an undertaking to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court.
The 23-year-old is alleged to have shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards Susan MacDougal at an address in Etive Place, Cornton, on October 4 last year and to have uttered abusive remarks and threats of violence, striking a metal pole on the ground, while on bail on another matter.
McQuillan is also said to have shouted and swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards Brian Reynolds and to have made abusive and sectarian remarks at Adamson Place, Cornton, in Stirling on June 26 this year.
He is also said to have behaved in an aggressive manner towards Mr Reynolds at Adamson Place on July 5 this year while subject to an undertaking to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court on July 17.
McQuillan also denied resisting or obstructing two police officers at his former address on July 5 and breaching an undertaking on that date by contacting Mr Reynolds, a condition of which forbade him from contacting the complainer.
At Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday) Sheriff Simon Collins continued the matter for the trial date of September 26. Bail was continued meantime.
