Topscorer Darrenstill outofaction

Stirling Albion return to action on Saturday when they welcome Queen’s Park to Forthbank.

And they will go into the match without last season’s top goalscorer Darren Smith who has seen less than half an hour of action this term.

Smith’s back injury has seen him sidelined apart from a substitute appearance against Peterhead on August 25.

While Smith remains out, there is good news for the Binos with Mark Stewart back in action after he missed a couple of matches with a collapsed lung.

Stewart scored twice in a closed-door friendly at Forthbank on Thursday when Stirling beat Brechin City 4-2. Kevin Fell and Scott Miller were also on target.

Stewart should be available for Saturday while Jason Marr, Darren Barr and Kevin Moon - who have all missed large chunks of the campaign were all expected to play a part against Livingston in the Reserve League 2 fixture at the Tony Macaroni Arena last night (Tuesday) and could make the squad for the Queen’s Park match if they come through unscathed.

The Binos had no game last weekend due to their early exit from the IRN-BRU Cup but their opponents reached the last 16 of the competition with a thrilling win over Welsh champions The New Saints at Park Hall Stadium in Oswestry.

The Spiders scored twice in the last couple of minutes to overturn a 1-0 deficit and lead 2-1, only for TNS
