Sooner we get off gravy train the better

-

Dear Editor

Stirling4Europe is nothing more than the Stirling branch of the People’s Vote whose leaflets they were handing out when they campaigned in the city against Brexit.

In effect, the people who support Stirling4Europe are pushing for a second referendum disguised as a vote on the acceptability of whatever deal is agreed with the EU.

We have voted to leave and that should be the end of the matter. I and my fellow Brexiteers knew precisely what we were voting for back in 2016 and that is to save the sovereignty of the UK.

We voted to escape the clutches of a corrupt and moribund organisation that is doing so much damage to this country and the rest of Europe too.

Can anyone doubt that the people of Greece will be struggling for decades to come due to the appalling manner in which they have been treated by the EU?

People lost everything and suicides have been at an all time high because of it.

Stirling4Europe wish us to stay within the clutches of the biggest gravy train that there has ever been and anyone doubting it should use the internet to check out employees’ salaries and perks and note we, the taxpayers, are paying for it all.

When Jean Monnet, the man recognised as the creator of the EU, first suggested a United States of Europe he realised that there was no chance of it happening.

Instead he used the economic argument to slowly but surely suck in the countries of Europe into one organisation.

He knew it would take decades to achieve but he believed that politicians could not be trusted to govern the people but an unelected elite was required.

This is what has been happening since it all started back in 1950.

Still the journey is not finished. The tentacles of an undemocratic and corrupt organisation continues to spread across the continent strangling our hard won democracies while imposing a rule of law that is incompatible with the laws of the UK.

Don’t take my word for it – check out the facts.

Luckily, we had the good sense to escape. Now it is time to get on with the job.
