Keen to do something after disappointment of Loch Lomond Live cancellation

East Loch Lomond-based alt.blues troubadour Dave Arcari has teamed up with Have Mercy Las Vegas in the wake of the cancellation of Loch Lomond Live this weekend.

They will present a double bill at the Winnock Hotel in Drymen this Saturday evening, September 22.

The venue has a limited capacity of 150. And £1 from every £10 ticket sold will go to Loch Lomond Rescue Boat along with any monies collected during daytime sessions to be held at various venues throughout Drymen.

The afternoon sessions are being organised by Stephen Scott of Have Mercy Las Vegas and will feature Inis Fada, Unstoppable Flying Raincoats, Tommy Weir, The Zips and more performing at The Drymen Inn, The Clachan and the Buchanan Arms in the village.

The Drymen gig will be his last before he heads off on his biggest USA tour to date.

With more than 20 shows from the East Coast to the mid-West, Arcari’s USA tour – his sixth to date – runs through October into November. On his return he plays a series of Scottish dates in Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh before bringing his 2018 live schedule to a close with a short tour in Estonia and Latvia in December.

“It’s all a bit last minute,” said Dave. “But when Stephen suggested we work together to pull something off in the wake of the chaos and disappointment left by the cancellation of Loch Lomond Live I thought it was a great idea – especially as a lot of people have booked accommodation in the area. “It means there’s something for them - and disappointed locals – if they still want to hear some live music.”

Pointing out that the new events are independent and nothing to do with Loch Lomond Live he added: “It’s on a much smaller scale, of course...but its something.

“Stephen’s put so much work in pulling it all together..and we’d never have done it without the support of the venues in Drymen.”

Dave Arcari’s album Live at Memorial Hall was released last autumn on double 180g coloured vinyl and digipak CD as well as streaming services.
