TrefoilGuild celebrating anniversary
Clackmannanshire is celebrating 75 years of the Trefoil Guild this weekend.
To mark the anniversary, members of the organisation, established in 1943 for former adult leaders of Girlguiding, a display will be held in a unit in Alloa High Street on Friday and Saturday (September 28-29).
Photographs and articles associated with the four Guilds which meet in the county – Alloa; Ochil (Dollar), Tillicoultry and the Wee County (Alloa) – will feature.
There will also be a display on behalf of the area’s branch of Riding for the Disabled (RDA), the charity Trefoil Guild UK is supporting throughout its annivesary year.
The shop will be open both days from 10am until 4pm.
Isobel Munro, chairman of Clackmannanshire County Trefoil Guilds, said: “Whether you are involved in or have been involved in Girlguiding or not please come and see what the four Trefoil Guilds within Clackmannanshire have achieved in years gone by as well as learning about their programme is for the year ahead.
“Trefoil Guild Scotland at a local level is a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure – whatever that might be.
“Trefoil in Scotland provides fun, friendship and ways to make a difference for men and women over the age of 18 who may not necessarily have been leaders in Rainbows, Brownies or Guides but who are willing to support the values of our sister organisation, Girlguiding Scotland.
“Many members help local Girlguiding units with projects or badges, as well as supporting local and/or international charities.”
