Tasty contest is one to savour

-

Young people across Stirling are being challenged to get their brains in gear and design their own tasty sandwich.

School students are being asked to sign up to the ‘Design a Sub Challenge’run by Subway.

The challenge asks students from schools and colleges to create and market a winning Sub, in a bid to bag themselves a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity to see their own sandwich launched in Subway stores across the region.

Launching for the second time in the region, after huge success last year, the competition encourages students to develop important life and employability skills, such as research, presentation and teamwork. Teams of up to four students are required to create a marketing campaign and business plan based around their new Sub design, with successful campaigns considering target market, nutrition, competitors, pricing and promotion.

The competition last year attracted scores of entries from across the region, with the eventual winner being the talented team from Dunblane High School.

If you are a teacher or student who would like to request a briefing pack containing more information on the Design a Sub Challenge for your school, college or sixth form, email designasub@mckennatownsend.com.

The deadline for entries is Friday December 14.
