Knights in shining form

-

Youngsters from the Stirling Knights have continued to impress.

First up on Saturday they hosted a Glasgow City U16M side buoyant with a 2–1 start to their season and the Knights knew they would have to be on their guard.

A good team performance that saw everyone contribute points on the scoreboard eventually saw the Knights run out with a 84-62 win.

The U18M followed next with a commanding 84-36 win over Perth Phoenix and yet again all players got on the scoresheet.

The final game of the weekend saw the U16M again in action in the English National Cup where they hosted City of Leeds Basketball Academy at the Peak on Sunday.

The Knights took the early lead with impressive scoring in the opening quarter from all starting five players and opened up a gap of 22-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The Knights strong team performance continued into the second as they raced in to at 48-21 lead at the break.

A lacklustre start to the second half saw a resurgent Leeds team hit back quickly with 10 unanswered points of their own to cut the deficit to 17.

The Knights re-adjusted into the game after an early time-out and hit back with some big sharp shooting from Callum McGlasson and the Stirling youngsters extended their lead to 33 points with one quarter remaining.

The match ended with Stirling winning 88-52.

Next Stirling will face either Bradford or Barnsley in the last 32 of the English National Cup.
