Psychic Charity Night A psychic charity night with mediums Jennifer Phillips, Andrew Lindsay and Barry Hogg will be held on Saturday October 13 at 7.30pm in the McLintock Hall, Main Street in aid of Strathcarr­on Hospice. Private mini readings available, however pre-booking for these is advisable by calling 07751 350204. There will be various stalls, raffles, tea/coffee and cakes. Entrance £10, pay at the door. SWI news The next meeting is on Monday, October 8 at 7.30pm in the McLintock Hall. The Westertone­s will entertain with some songs. Competitio­ns: Lyrics to a favourite song and a musical-themed ornament. Visitors welcome. The bird quiz was won by Phyllis Gilroy. A big thank you to all who supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning. Golf society Buchlyvie Golf Society’s final competitio­n is tomorrow (Saturday) when members will play in a team format for the Andy McAlister Trophy at Aberfoyle Golf Club. This is the society’s charity day when all monies raised are donated to Cancer Research. Presentati­on of the trophy and the new Peter Buchanan Trophy will take place later in the afternoon in the Buchlyvie Inn to which all are welcome to attend. Raffle tickets can be purchased from the Buchlyvie Inn and any donations of raffle or auction prizes would be gratefully accepted. SWI news Next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 9 at 7.30pm in the village hall. The speaker will be Yasmin Marley from Dancercise who will talk on the theme Keep Dancing - Exercise for Life. Competitio­ns will be an autumn arrangemen­t in a jug and a fitness and balance tip. Visitors are welcome (£3) and are asked to bring their own cup. A small raffle prize would be appreciate­d. Although the attempt to collect 45,000 cans

to break the world record has been abandoned, members are asked to bring a can anyway and these will be donated to Start Up Stirling. Teapot Cafe is open in the kirk hall library on Wednesdays from 10.30am to noon. Thursday Club is a senior citizens club which meets in Callander Kirk Hall Library every second Thursday.
