Football fans are being urged to go behind the scenes as they bid to shift weight.

The life–changing programme Football Fans in Training (FFIT) programme is returning for 2018–19 and Stirling Albion supporters can sign up for free now.

The SPFL Trust’s course runs for 13 weeks and differs from normal weight loss programmes, offering advice and practical ways to make changes to your lifestyle, all while going behind the scenes here at Albion.

The main aims of the programme are to feel better about yourself; become more active; lose weight; develop a healthier lifestyle; and get fitter.

Every 90–minute session contains a different topic, which includes managing alcohol consumption, understanding food labels and balancing your diet.

There is also a physical component to each session. This can be a gentle walk, a circuit session with trained coaching staff or a game of football.

The programme is open to those who enjoy football or those who just want make changes to their health and you do not need to be a Stirling Albion supporter to take part.

Albion are running a men’s FFIT on Wednesdays from 6.30-8pm at Forthbank Stadium which started this week.

A women’s FFIT will follow in the New Year, also on Wednesdays from 6.30-8pm at Forthbank Stadium, starting on February 6.

To sign up for either of the FFIT programmes contact Community Engagement Manager Andy Todd on 01786 450399 or community@ stirlingalbionfc.co.uk.

The scheme is free but spaces are limited and booking is advised.
