Nieve skates with stars of Disney show

-

Stirling New Figure Skating Club’s Nieve Deans took part in a special skating workshop recently.

Nieve was one of only 10 skaters who won a highly prized place at the Disney On Ice Workshop held at the Metro Arena, Newcastle.

The workshop required an audition video which included a performance of Nieve’s competition programme and she joined nine other successful candidates with the cast of Disney’s production of Dream Big.

She was lucky enough to experience what it is like to skate for Disney with cast member Paul, and as part of her prize, Nieve was also provided with tickets for the evening performance of Disney’s Dream Big for herself and her family.

Nieve said:“The Disney on Ice workshop was a magical experience. Paul gave me tips on improving my jumps and spins. I even got to try pairs lifts which was really exciting as I’d never done them before. I’d really like to be a Disney on Ice skater when I’m older.”

Rhiannon Scott, Nieve’s coach and Active Stirling Skating Coordinator added:“I have coached Nieve since she began at our Active Stirling learn to skate classes through to her current success. It is great to see her being rewarded for her hard work.”
