- Kaiya Marjoribanks

Young performers will be soaring this week as they take to the Macrobert stage with the Disney hit show“High School Musical”.

From the production team that has brought the‘show in a week’ to Dunblane for the last 13 years, as well as‘Cats’’Les Miserables’ and this summer’s sellout success ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat,’ Rubber Chicken Theatre is thrilled to return to the Macrobert with the their latest production.

The Disney phenomeon - the film version of which made stars of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens - runs tomorrow (Thursday), Friday and Saturday in the theatre.

Rubber Chicken Theatre spokesperson Pamela Mackie said:“In the show the captain of the East High basketball team and the key member of the academic club shock the student body by teaming up to audition for the upcoming school musical.

“This show is a Disney spectacular that’s all about being yourself and following your dreams. With hits such as‘We’re all in this together’‘Getcha Head in the Game’and‘Bop to the Top’ it’s an incredible feel good show.

“With a cast of 90 teenagers, rehearsing the entire show in only a week, with live basketball, aerial tricks, flips and tumbles, some awesome harmonies and all the energy that comes with the show in a week buzz, our rehearsal week has been amazing and the kids can’t wait to get on stage.

They really have been phenomenal. With only three shows, tickets are disappearing fast.”

Performances begin at 7.30pm each night. Tickets from the Macrobertartscentre.org or call 01786 466666.
