On Friday, the Company Section boys are away to Nethybridg­e Outdoor Centre for the weekend so will not meet but Seniors (S4-S6) meet as normal 7.45-10pm and will be taking part in Playlist For Life training with Dementia-Friendly Dunblane. On Saturday, November 3, BB Project Malawi is hosting its second whisky-tasting evening at the Braeport Centre at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20, which include five drams and an expert tour around Scotland’s best malts. On Sunday, November 4, a soup-and-sweet lunch is being held at the Cathedral Hall following the morning service at 11.45am and all are welcome to join in and help the fundraisin­g to allow 17 young people from BB and GB to renovate classrooms in Malawi next summer. On Saturday, November 10, the Boys’ Brigade Band, in partnershi­p with the Regimental Band of the Black Watch Army Cadet Force, will host a Festival of Remembranc­e Concert to mark the 100th Anniversar­y of the end of WWI. The concert and Act of Remembranc­e will take place in Dunblane Cathedral at 7pm. Entry is free, with a retiring collection in aid of service charities. The event is supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust. All welcome. St Blane’s Church Sunday morning service and Sunday school will be at 10am and tea/coffee will be served afterwards to which all are welcome. The Scottish Bible Society is holding its annual united churches service in St Blane’s at 6.30pm when the speaker will be Robert Russell, Head of Donor Services. Dunblane Cathedral Midweek service is at its usual time of 11am tomorrow (Thursday). All welcome to attend this short service in the choir area of the church. The funeral of the late Mr Andrew Baillie will be held at 1.30pm tomorrow (Thursday). On Friday, October 26 the Handbell Ringers have organised an antiques valuation day with Anita Manning, beginning at 10am. This will be held in the Cathedral Hall. The Memorial Service for the late Mrs Doreen Black will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 11.30am. An exciting new initiative – “Music and Memories” – starts at 2pm on Friday, October 26 in the halls. This a chance for all to come along for a trip “down memory lane” with familiar and well-loved songs over a cup of tea and a friendly chat. The aim is to go forward on a fortnightl­y basis. On Saturday, October 27 Dunblane Museum is holding a coffee morning in the hall. There will be the usual stalls. Admission is £2. On Sunday, Communion is at 10.30am and 3pm. All groups of Cathedral Kids will meet during morning worship. That service will be followed by tea and coffee served in the hall, where the Fairtrade stall will be open. The evening service at 6.30pm will be the annual Service for All Souls, a service of thanksgivi­ng and remembranc­e for those we have lost.
